Treatment for Heel Pain
at Pro Physio SA
What is Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar Fasciitis (heel pain) is an overuse condition of the plantar fascia, which is a band of connective tissue which runs from the heel to the ball of the foot. Overloading of this structure can cause bruising or overstretching of this ligament which can cause inflammation and pain. In some cases, it may be related to a heel spur. Surprisingly, the spur itself does not cause pain and may often be found in the other foot without symptoms.
How is Plantar Fasciitis Diagnosed?
Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapists are highly trained and skilled in order to assess and identify any factors which may be contributing to the development of Plantar Fasciitis. During your initial appointment At ProPhysio SA, the physiotherapist will thoroughly and meticulously assess your injury. This is so that they are able to find the cause of your pain and then diagnose the issue. As a result, your physiotherapist will adopt an evidence-based approach to your management and rehabilitation as well as steps to avoid re-injury.
