Women’s Health Physio Adelaide

Women’s health physiotherapy supports pelvic floor function, pregnancy related changes, and postnatal recovery. A women’s health physio provides assessment, education, and personalised care to help manage symptoms, improve movement, and support confidence through different stages of life.

Women’s health physiotherapy provides specialised support for conditions that affect women at different stages of life. At Pro Health Care, our women’s health physios support pelvic health, pregnancy related changes, and postnatal recovery through personalised and respectful care.

We understand that many women delay seeking help due to uncertainty, discomfort, or not knowing what support is available. Our approach focuses on clear explanation, privacy, and practical guidance so you feel informed and supported throughout care.

Women’s health physiotherapy is delivered within our comprehensive physiotherapy Adelaide offering, with collaboration across disciplines available where appropriate.

What Is Women’s Health Physiotherapy?

Women’s health physiotherapy focuses on the assessment and management of conditions related to the pelvic floor, pregnancy, childbirth, and hormonal changes across the lifespan.

Our women’s health physios are trained to assess pelvic floor muscle function and identify how strength, coordination, posture, and movement patterns contribute to symptoms.

Care also includes education and support to help you understand what is happening in your body and how to manage changes with confidence.

Pelvic Floor Physio Adelaide

Pelvic floor physiotherapy supports women experiencing symptoms such as bladder or bowel leakage, pelvic pain, or feelings of heaviness or pressure.

Pelvic floor physios assess muscle function and coordination, then develop personalised management plans that may include:

  • Pelvic floor muscle training
  • Education around bladder and bowel habits
  • Movement and posture guidance
  • Support during pregnancy and after childbirth

Pelvic health physiotherapy aims to restore function while helping you feel confident and informed about your care.

Pregnancy and Postnatal Physiotherapy

Pregnancy and childbirth place significant physical demands on the body. Women’s health physios provide pregnancy physio support to help manage discomfort and prepare the body for birth and recovery.

Pregnancy and postnatal physiotherapy may assist with:

  • Pelvic girdle pain
  • Lower back or hip pain
  • Postural changes
  • Pelvic floor preparation for birth
  • Recovery after vaginal delivery or caesarean birth

Postnatal care focuses on gradual recovery, rebuilding strength, and supporting safe return to activity.

Where appropriate, care may also link with clinical Pilates or hydrotherapy as part of a structured program.
