What is Women’s Health Physiotherapy?

Women’s Health physiotherapy is the practice of safe and effective therapies and education that specifically assist women to manage a variety of conditions but most commonly those that affect the pelvic floor muscles.

Our Women’s Health physios are specially trained to assess the function of the pelvic floor muscles and develop tailored treatment and management plans. In addition to this, our Women’s Health physios also provide support pre and post natal to maintain optimal pelvic health and recover from childbirth.

Kathryn Meade

Kathryn Meade is a physio in Adelaide that holds an interest in Women’s and Pelvic Health as well as Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

Kathryn Meade graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia and has worked extensively within both the public and private sectors, managing a wide range of both pelvic health and musculoskeletal conditions. Kathryn has a keen interest in helping women manage conditions such as Incontinence, Pelvic Organ Prolapse and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. She also has a passion for working with women during pregnancy and in the postnatal period.

Kathryn Meade is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), the Continence Foundation of Australia (CFA), and Women’s Health Training Associates (WHTA). She is also a current committee member of the APA Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health Group – SA branch.

Kathryn is a certified Level 1-4 DMA Clinical Pilates clinician and undertaken Advanced Level 3 Women’s Health training with the WHTA.

When not at the clinic, Kathryn enjoys spending time with her family and sampling the fine food and wine, South Australia has to offer!
