Dr Saumya Rana

Dr Rana is the Principal Dentist at Pro Dental SA’s Kidman Park Dental Practice and has developed expertise in Restorative Dentistry.

Dr Saumya Rana is the owner and principal dentist of Pro Dental SA. She graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2005 and has over 18 years of clinical experience.  She has a special interest in restorative dentistry and implant surgery along with sports dentistry.  She is the Port Adelaide club dentist for both the men’s and women’s teams.  In the past decade she has dedicated her time and energy to growing Pro Dental SA into a state of the art dental practice that offers patient focused care within the community.  She treats her patients like family and her dedication has resonated within the tight knit western suburbs community.  She has built a strong team around her with Dr Cathryn Gill (dentist) and Alesha Tran (Oral Health Therapist/hygienist) joining her to provide excellent dental care.

Dr Cathryn and Dr Saumya studied at Adelaide University together, with Dr Cathryn graduating over 20 years ago with the Dean’s Award for Excellence.

Dr Cathryn has a special interest in orthodontics. She is qualified to fit braces on adults and children and has over 15 years experience in Invisalign.

Dr Cathryn loves all aspects of general dentistry, namely innovative digital dentistry (such as one visit crowns), seeing kids, making you proud of your smile and making you actually enjoy going to the dentist. She will make you feel at ease, as if you’re one of her friends.

Alesha Tran

Alesha is an Extended Scope Oral Health Therapist, and brings a wealth of expertise and passion to Pro Dental SA.

Since graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2016 with a Bachelor of Oral Health, Alesha has continued to expand her knowledge and skills. In 2022, Alesha furthered her professional development by undertaking the Adult Restorative course at the University of Sydney.

Alesha is passionate about paediatric dentistry. She thoroughly enjoys helping children feel comfortable and secure during their dental visits. She is deeply committed to fostering positive experiences that establish trust and confidence in young patients, setting them up for lifelong oral health habits.

Central to Alesha’s practice philosophy is delivering excellence in dental care, with an emphasis on education and prevention of dental diseases, particularly gum disease. Alesha believes in taking a holistic approach and endeavours to bridge the gap between dental health and overall health and wellbeing.

Outside of dentistry, Alesha enjoys an active lifestyle, loves cooking, barracks for Port Adelaide and cherishes quality time with family and friends. She is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and has had two Muay Thai fights. She is a proud dog enthusiast, sharing her life with her very spoiled Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Aspen.
