Official Dentist of the Port Adelaide Football Club Announcement
Dr. Saumya Rana, Pro Dental provides both emergency and routine dental care for both AFL and AFLW players at the Port Adelaide Football Club, combining a love of sports and dentistry.
Dr. Saumya Rana of Pro Dental, Kidman Park has dreamt of being on the bench at Alberton Oval for a long time and now that wish has come true.
The passionate football supporter is now having her dreams come to fruition after finalising an agreement this season with the Port Adelaide Football Club to become the official Club Dentist. The partnership means that Dr Rana is the emergency dentist for any players in the AFL and AFLW programs as well as their preferred dentist off the field.
Already a supporter of the Port Adelaide Football Club as a Chairman’s Club member, Dr Rana was thrilled when the conversations earlier this year evolved into Pro Dental being appointed as the official dentist service provider.
“I’m a passionate member of the Port Adelaide Football Club community,” says Dr Saumya Rana.
“Sport is one of my great loves and I’ve always dreamt of being involved in an elite, high performance environment in some capacity. I want the best for the players so it’s great that I can offer them assistance in the best way I know how.”
It’s not just emergency care that Pro Dental provides. They also see players and other Club officials on a regular basis for routine dental care (if they choose).
Pro Dental are not engaging in this partnership to substantially grow their already successful client base, but more about contributing as an elite performer off the field. This is about being elite in our own industry, combined with being a passionate member of the Club community to deliver the best dental services available to the athletes.

During their visits, the dentists are able to build a rapport with the players and hopefully influence the way they take care of their oral health.
While the world of elite sport is a unique area of specialisation, it’s the ability to provide genuine care and collaborate with other sports medicine professionals that is an added bonus.
“This partnership enables me to expand my professional networks by working alongside other sports medicine professionals connected to the Club in an emergency,” Rana said.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to have the opportunity to combine my love for football and my profession in this way.”
