Dr Spiro Doukakis is a Greek Speaking GP who consults at our Dover Gardens Family Practice. He has an interest in Paediatrics, Family Medicine and Urgent Care Medicine. He has been in general practice for over 25 years.

Spiro undertook his medical training at The University of Adelaide graduating in 1988. He completed his RACGP fellowship in 1997.

Spiro has worked in many GP locations over the years including Hazel Grove Medical Centre from 1992 to 1997 and various gpHealth Clinics from 2005 to 2018. From 1995 to 2014 he also co-managed and worked as an urgent care after hours GP with gp Solutions, now 13SICK. He continues to be involved with 13SICK as a clinical adviser in the education of doctors.

He started working at Pro Health Care in 2019. Spiro has experience in all aspects of general practice.

Outside of medicine, Spiro enjoys keeping fit, watching sports and travelling.

Dr Vimalan undertook his medical training at the University of Auckland, New Zealand graduating in 2006.

He has worked in numerous tertiary hospitals across New Zealand and Australia.  His first post was Wellington Hospital where he spent 4 years as an intern, Resident Medical Officer and registrar.  He then moved to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, QLD and covered regional hospitals during his time there.

He was in the hospital system for a good number of years as a registrar, mostly in surgical subspecialties. He has vast experience in orthopaedics, urology and surgical subspecialties (cardiothoracic and neurosurgery), also working in intensive care and emergency. After 10 long years of hospital service Dr Selvaratnam decided to follow in the footsteps of his mother and late father in pursuing a career in General Practice.

His interests outside of medicine include scuba diving, badminton and has recently delved into astrophotography.

Dr Nikhil Ayyar earned his medical degree from the University of Western Australia in 2011 and has been working as a doctor in both private and public systems throughout Perth, Gold Coast, Central Coast, Broken Hill and Adelaide.

He earned his GP Fellowship in 2020.

Dr Nikhil enjoys all aspects of General Practice, but has particular interests in Chronic Disease Management, Men’s Health, Mental Health, Paediatric Conditions, Preventive Health, and Musculo-Skeletal Conditions.

Dr Nikhil enjoys travelling and sight-seeing, watching various sports (like cricket, AFL, rugby, etc), watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Rachana Deshpande graduated from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India in 2012.

Dr Deshpande worked in a variety of specialties such as general medicine, emergency medicine, ICU and Gastroenterology before commencing GP training in 2018. Rachana undertook her GP training in various clinics in Broken Hill, NSW. She is interested in all aspects of general practice but especially women’s health, aged care and chronic disease management.

Outside of work she loves exploring new towns and cities and also enjoys music, movies and reading.

Dr Oak holds an MBBS, MPH, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Dr Oak graduated from Bond University and has an extensive career, having served in the Australian Army for 20 years. His experience includes roles in acute care, occupational medicine, and primary healthcare, most recently working as a civilian Medical Officer for the ADF health contract. Since leaving the ADF, he has focused on general practice.

Career highlights include his appointment by the Governor General to the Federal Veterans’ Review Board and coordinating the medical evacuation of President Horta in Timor Leste. Dr Oak’s areas of interest include men’s health, veterans’ health, geriatric medicine, and family medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys walking his dogs and spending time with his family.

Dr Alicia Innis is an Australian trained geriatrician. She completed medical school in 2010 and moved to South Australia to pursue physician training. She provides compassionate, personalised and quality care.

Dr Innis enjoys all aspects of geriatric medicine, however, has particular interests in memory assessment, falls assessment, comprehensive geriatric assessment, polypharmacy and Advance Care Planning. She enjoys capacity assessments and reviewing patients with atypical cognitive disorders.
