Skin Check Clinic

The Importance of Skin Checks

While there is no national screening program for skin cancer, skin checks are an important source of early detection.  Australia experiences some of the highest levels of ultra-violet radiation in the world, primarily because we are close to the equator and have weather conditions that permit many blue-sky days. It is therefore no surprise that skin cancer (combined melanoma and non-melanoma) is the most common type of cancer in Australia. Skin cancer causes more Australian deaths than transport accidents, and every year Australian GPs conduct over a million patient consultations for skin cancer.

What to Expect During Your Consult

A skin check at our dedicated skin cancer clinic is generally completed in a fifteen-minute session and is a simple, full body check for skin cancer.  Doctors have on-site, specialised equipment that they use for skin checks and are equipped to undertake photographs for monitoring, biopsies, excisions, and use of cryotherapy or diathermy if required.  The majority of skin cancers are able to be handled by us but we may refer to a specialist for their input if the case is complex or at the patients request.

Consultation Fees

Skin Checks

Standard Skin Check $145.50 (Concession $125.50) (Medicare rebate $42.85)
Extended Skin Check $175.50 (Concession $155.50) (Medicare rebate $82.90)

If any procedures are required they will incur additional fees which are not included in the above.

Your GP will advise of applicable fees before proceeding with any further treatment or procedure.
Full payment to be made on the day. Please contact reception staff for any further enquiries.
