Rebates for counselling may be available through Medicare and/or Private Health Insurance Funds.
Medicare rebates are available for Psychological treatment by a registered Psychologist under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental health care Initiative. In order to access this, you will need a referral from your General Practitioner.
Your General Practitioner will need to complete a Mental Health Assessment and prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan before referring you to a Psychologist for counselling.
Private Health Insurance
If eligible, a proportion of the consultation fee for counselling may be claimed through Private Health Funds.
If you would like to know the amount of rebate you can receive prior to your first appointment, you will need to contact your Private Health Fund.
Third Party Insurance Claims
MVA and Work Cover claims for psychology are accepted at our Kingswood Clinic at Torrens Park only. Referral from your treating General Practitioner is required.
A General Practitioner or other Health Professional can refer an individual to Pro Psychology SA.
An individual can also arrange and make an appointment time for themselves or for another person by contacting Pro Psychology SA.
Appointments for Psychological Counselling are available by request with our friendly reception staff.
