Our Family Practice in Stirling is nestled within the Adelaide Hills at 104 Mount Barker Road. Our Stirling GP practice is a 6-Day Medical Centre that is open on Saturday’s until 12:00pm with same day appointment availability and a convenient on-line booking system. Dr Kassandra Fairhall

Qualifications

Dr Kassandra Fairhall is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills with expertise in Mental Health, Adolescent Health, Chronic Pain, Contraception and Sexual Health, Travel Medicine and Dermatology.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Kassandra Fairhall was born and grew up in Murwillumbah, a small country town in northern NSW, and completed her Bachelor of Science at University of Queensland graduating in 2003. She subsequently undertook the Postgraduate Medical program at Flinders University, including a 12 week placement in rural general practice, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2007.

Dr Fairhall continued her training with the Southern Adelaide Health Service covering a broad range of areas including Mental Health and general medicine.  She became a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2012 after completing her training in the community setting.

Dr Fairhall has been involved in teaching throughout her career and is currently a Clinical Skills tutor with the School of Medicine at Flinders University.  She has developed her medical interests through her experience with Headspace (youth health), attachments in teaching and chronic pain and addiction medicine, and has completed further training in skin procedures.

Dr Fairhall enjoys all aspects of general medicine and the variety of general practice but also has interests in mental health, adolescent health, chronic pain, contraception and sexual health, travel medicine and dermatology including procedures.

Dr Fairhall has recently married; she enjoys travelling, cooking and entertaining, and scuba diving locally and internationally.

Dr Jonas Kasauskas

Qualifications

Dr Jonas Kasauskas is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills with interests in Aviation Medicine and minor procedural surgery.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Jonas Kasauskas was born in Adelaide, grew up in the western suburbs, and graduated from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 1979.

After completing his Internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, he participated in the Family Medicine Programme, including training for Obstetrics and Anaesthetics, as preparation for rural General Practice. The move from Adelaide to Kingston SE, with partner Dr Lindy Poole, happened in 1983, where he managed his own practice for a total of 17 years, assisted by a third doctor from 1988.

Since happily joining Stirling Medical Centre in 2000, Dr Kasauskas has also maintained his interest in Rural Medicine by doing regular (1 week in 6) locum work with Rural Doctors Workforce Agency, all around South Australia.

Although no longer actively involved in Obstetrics and Anaesthetics, he has retained his interest in Aviation Medicine, and minor surgery, including regular surgical assists at Stirling District Hospital.

Outside interests include travel, bushwalking, photography, cars, windsurfing, wine and food, and of course, grandchildren!

Dr Margaret Low

Qualifications

Dr Margaret Low is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills, her special interests include women’s health and geriatric medicine.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Margaret Low has been a GP for over 15 years. She is a Hills local, with older teenager children. She has many years’ experience in geriatric medicine, women’s health and takes an interest in chronic disease management. At the present she works Monday afternoons and Fridays at Pro Health Care Stirling.

Dr Sally Parsons

Qualifications

Dr Sally Parsons is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills that has developed expertise in the areas of Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Palliative Care.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Sally Parsons graduated from Flinders University with BMBS in 1995 and completed her intern year at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC). She went on to do a Diploma in Child Health at the Womens and Childrens hospital (WCH), also working for 6months in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and gaining extra qualifications in Obstetrics.

Dr Parsons obtained her Fellowship with the College of General Practice in 1998. She works in all areas of general practice however areas of interest include Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Palliative Care. She also has a special interest in shared care, looking after pregnant women in conjunction with WCH and FMC.

Apart from gaining 2 years experience in country practice, working in Kadina,  she has been at Stirling Medical Centre since completing general practice training.

Dr Lindy Poole

Qualifications

Dr Lindy Poole is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills with expertise in Nutritional and Complimentary Medicine and Obstetrics. (Currently not taking on new patients)

Practitioner Biography

Dr Lindy Poole graduated from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 1980. After further rural studies she and her husband Dr Jonas Kasauskas moved to Kingston SE in 1983 to be the sole GP’S with the full spectrum of rural medicine – own hospital/accident and emergency/obstetrics /minor surgery as well as general medicine.

Dr Poole’s interest in nutritional and complimentary medicine (integrative medicine) had its origin in that practice and has grown ever since. She moved from the country to become a partner in Stirling Medical Centre in  1996. She has a Fellowship of RACGP and has been a long time member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (MACNEM).

She is accredited for obstetric shared care.

Outside interests include travel, bushwalking, wine (with food) and grandchildren!

Dr Jason Garrood

Qualifications

Dr Jason Garrood is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills that has a special interest counselling and the treatment of mental health disorders.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Jason Garrood is a former partner of Pro Health Care Stirling, and now is semi-retired from General Practice. He sees only adults for psychotherapy for common mental health disorders & relationship counselling along with counselling for men and anger management. Dr Garrood bases his predominant practice on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other therapy modes such as mindfulness are offered as seem appropriate in collaboration with patients and their GPs or psychologists. Mental Health Plans can be completed and anti-depressants prescribed.

Dr Chinpo Sam studied at the University of Adelaide and commenced her internship in 2000 during which she worked within a number of Adelaide Public Hospitals in the areas of General Medicine and Palliative Care. Dr Sam commenced working in General Practice in 2004 and has worked at our Stirling Practice since 2005, developing interests in family medicine, geriatrics, women’s health and paediatrics.

Dr Jane Thiel

Qualifications

Dr Jane Thiel is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills that has a special interest in Women’s Health and Skin Cancer Medicine.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Jane Thiel studied medicine at Flinders University in South Australia, and graduated in 1994. Since then, she has spent time working in Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and the Riverland in SA. Jane now lives in the Adelaide Hills. Previously she practiced as a GP in Millicent, as well as providing Women’s Health Clinics  in rural communities through the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Her special interests are in women’s health and skin cancer medicine, but she enjoys all aspects of general practice.

Outside of work Dr Thiel enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and gardening. She has 3 young children and works on a part time basis.

Dr Jarrod Brumby

Qualifications

Dr Jarrod Brumby is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills that has expertise in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Jarrod Brumby was born and raised in Adelaide. He graduated with First Class Honours with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Tasmania in 2006. His junior doctor and Basic Physician Training years were completed at the Gold Coast Hospital and the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2013. Since then he has gained significant extra training in skin cancer medicine and skin cancer surgery. He is currently in the final stages of completing a Masters of Medicine (Skin Cancer) through the University of Queensland.

For the last 2 years Jarrod has worked at a Skin Cancer Clinic in Hobart. His major interests are skin cancer checks, early detection and management of skin cancer.

Dr Sarah Parker

Qualifications

Dr Sarah Parker is a doctor in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills her special interests include Women’s Health and Paediatrics.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Sarah Parker grew up in Hobart where she attended the University of Tasmania, graduating with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2006.  She then moved to Queensland and completed her intern and resident years at the Gold Coast Hospital, before moving to Adelaide in 2009.  She became of Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Practitioners in 2011, and was awarded the Monty Kent Hughes Memorial Award for the Highest Score in Australia in her clinical component of the General Practice exams.  Sarah has worked in a variety of practices including metropolitan and rural clinics, but has now settled with her young family to Stirling and looks forward to working in the Hills long term.  Her special interest areas include Women’s’ Health and Paediatrics; and she also works in Medical Education with training GP registrars.

Dr Kristen Tee

Qualifications

Dr Tee is a GP in Adelaide with expertise in Women’s Health Issues and Paediatrics consulting from Pro Health Care Stirling in the Adelaide Hills.

Practitioner Biography

Dr Tee is a General Practice Registrar with South Australian Provider, GPEX. She completed her medical degree at Adelaide University in 2013 and has also worked at the Queen Elizabeth and Women’s and Children’s Hospitals. In 2015 Kristen completed her diploma in Child Health and Certificate of Women’s Health, subsequently joining the Pro Health Care Team in 2016. Dr Tee has an interest in Women’s Health and Paediatrics, including Antenatal Shared Care and Mirena insertions. She is also a reviewer for the Australian Family Physician Journal and contributes to student teaching on the eMedici site.
